Governing Codes & Electrical Inspection Mandates

All calculations adhere to NEC Article 220.82 (Optional Calculation for Dwelling Units). General lighting is calculated at 3 VA per square foot (NEC 220.82(B)(1)), small appliance and laundry circuits at 1,500 VA each (NEC 220.82(B)(2)), with the first 10,000 VA assessed at 100% and the remainder at 40%. Heating and air conditioning loads are evaluated per NEC 220.82(C) using the largest non-coincident load. Service entrance conductors follow NEC Table 310.12 (75°C temperature rating). Always consult your local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for regional amendments.
